Fun In The Sun
Entering the boat from astern, you step onto the wide hi-lo teak-laid swim platform - the platform allows for comfortable and safe access to the water for swimming, water toys, and launching the tender from the tender garage. For the more adventurous, divers will appreciate being lowered into and out of the water with their heavy gear while the leisurely sun-seekers can enjoy being partially submerged to stay cool.
Entertainers Indulgence
The 5400SY is the perfect platform for entertaining. Stairs ascend on each side of the swim platform to meet in the spacious cockpit which is covered by an extended rear awning offering the tallest guest plenty of headroom. While the cockpit area offers generally great protection from the elements, when the weather calls for it, an opening sunroof bathes the cockpit in natural light. A choice of lounges either aft or to starboard around a beautifully polished walnut table comfortably seats 10-12 lucky guests. The cockpit port side is furnished with BBQ grill, fridge, and Ice maker.
What we loved about the 5400SY is that guests can overflow into the main saloon through the stunning Riviera stainless steel framed glass sliding doors. To port, guests can enjoy another L-shaped lounge set around an interior dining table. To starboard is the fully-equipped galley impressing the most discerning host with an oven, convection hot plates, dishwasher, filtered water system, and wine fridge. Bar stools act as a breakfast bar to keep the chef company during meal preparation.
Inclusive Captain's Station
Forward of the main saloon and galley is the centreline helm station. The Riviera 5400SY is designed for comfort at anchor and underway. To port is a deluxe corner lounge where family and friends can relax and keep the captain company.
Equipped with the latest technology (including navigation equipment hardware and software upgrades as they have been released), the complexities of the helm station have been made simple on the 5400SY enhancing the ease of operation and subsequent elimination of stress that can accompany driving larger motor yachts. For docking manoeuvres the upgraded Volvo IPS950 (725hp) engines are controlled by a choice of no less than three IPS joysticks stationed around the vessel - furthermore, equipped with the Volvo DPS systems which will hold the vessel in position at the press of a button. Needless to say maneuverability is a dream and despite her size she is responsive at the helm and can easily be managed by a cruising couple or family.
Everything needed to understand and monitor the performance of the boat is right at the helm station. The electrical system is handled by the C-Zone Management System which can be synchronized with an iPad and the engine management systems are fed directly into the Garmin 17" clear view helm screens providing live engine intelligence alongside navigational data. Add to this an ergonomic yet exceptionally comfortable helm seat and the skipper's job may well be contested.
First Class Accommodation
The 5400SY offers three staterooms accommodating six guests. The midship master cabin spans the full width of the beam featuring a king island bed, and ensuite with a separate shower stall. The expansive side windows provide an abundance of natural light, and we can't forget to mention the magnificent water views, an irrefutable charm of the Riviera 5400SY. VIP guests up in the bow could easily be mistaken thinking they had entered the master stateroom, as the finishes in this cabin equal the same high standard enjoyed by the owner. Even the 3rd guest cabin featuring over and under bunks will not disappoint guests with the harmonious gloss walnut and velvet linings furnished throughout the vessel.
Performance
Rarely do hear a review of a sports yacht described as powerful and graceful in the same sentence but this has been the case for the Riviera 5400SY. Her twin Volvo IPS950 engines have done only modest hours and the vessel had been regularly serviced.
The vessel was recently antifouled and mechanically serviced which also includes IPS Pod drives / Genset / Water maker and presents as an immaculate example of this ever popular model.
