Alexander Marine are pleased to have SOLD the 2017 Palm Beach 65 Flybridge 'Darkside'.
Sleek, elegant and commanding attention wherever she goes, this beautiful vessel will be on many luxury boat owners wish list. The Palm Beach line of bespoke motor yachts is synonymous with power and luxury. 'Darkside' presents a rare opportunity to acquire one of these highly sought after vessels - she has been lightly used and has been maintained to a very high standard.
Entry onto the vessel is via her spacious teak-laid swim platform. An ingenious piece of engineering is the inclusion of a remote controlled Opacmare carbon fiber "transformer" hi/lo platform which is integrated into the swim platform. When the transformer is stowed you wouldn't know this handy piece of kit is even on the boat! It is fantastic for swimming and or can be used to stow of a second tender or jet ski. Moving into the cockpit 'Darkside' promotes outdoor living at its finest. This fully covered teak-laid area is spacious and practical featuring two distinct seating areas. Guests have a choice between a cosy L-shaped settee with a high gloss teak table tucked in the starboard forward corner against the saloon bulkhead for maximum protection from the elements.
Alternatively, a spacious moulded forward facing lounge is installed across the aft of the cockpit, and when complimented with some deck chairs, comfortably seats a further 8 people set around a large high gloss teak table. Entry in and out of the cockpit is via dual doors either side of the aft lounge. The cockpit sole lifts up to reveal the tender garage which house's her centre console Walker Bay 325 RIB. There is also enough room for the storage of fenders and folded sunbeds. Now 'Darkside' is an entertainer's delight, and in support of these activities is an L-shaped wet bar with Corian finished bench top and sink in the forward port corner of the cockpit. Equipment in this area includes an Isotherm bar fridge, an all-important icemaker and cleverly concealed Kenyon BBQ electric grill. Contemporary light coloured soft furnishings provide stylish comfort to the area. The cockpit incorporates a concealed docking station on the portside with IPS Joystick and Bow Thruster controls. In terms of moving around the boat, the cockpit permits access out onto both side decks and up to the bow, as well as ladder access up to the flybridge.
The saloon bulkhead out of the cockpit is a high gloss teak finish with a centreline door into the saloon - this is signature Palm Beach styling, refinement and finish. To maximise the flow between the saloon and the cockpit the aft saloon glazing is electric hi/lo to seamlessly combine these spaces together. The saloon is bathed in natural light streaming through the huge tinted windows to all four sides. Dual dinette tables to port join together to form one large internal dining table surrounded by a plush U-shaped tan leather lounge. Opposite are two 2-seater lounges with a coffee table, a comfortable place for conversation or relaxing to watch your favourite movie from the large hi/lo TV that is housed behind the helm bench seat.
Moving forward of the main saloon is the comfortable twin helm seat upholstered in black onyx leather to starboard with a matching portside navigator bench seat to port. Thoughtfully planned, you can control everything from the skipper's helm location thanks to a comprehensive Garmin navigation package that includes engine room and aft facing cameras. Electric drop-down windows on both sides adjacent the helm position permits great natural ventilation and ease of access out onto the foredeck.
Her galley is positioned down a few stairs in front of the navigator's bench seat to port. The galley is well equipped and ergonomically designed for cooking up a storm. The Corian white benchtop with recessed sink and Billi boiling/chilled filtered water is accompanied by a four-burner induction cooktop, Miele oven, Samsung microwave, Fisher & Paykel dishwasher, and ample refrigeration to ensure you have all the amenities required to support your reputation as a notable host. Her elegant master cabin is located mid-ships on the starboard side of the vessel opposite the galley, which has a large teak door that opens to reveal a sisal carpet in a light cream shade. The various teak framed portholes and overhead hatches allow for a light airy ambiance with the overhead hatches allowing in the fresh sea breeze.
There is an athwartships oriented walk-around king-size bed. Storage is available in the large hanging wardrobe, drawers on either side of the bed, and under the bed in addition to a dressing table. The owner of this fine vessel can relax in privacy and comfort to watch television on a 40-inch Samsung screen. As you would expect in a vessel of this calibre, the ensuite bathroom has teak flooring, a tempered glass shower stall with highly polished stainless steel fixtures and fittings. The teak toilet seat is signature Palm Beach styling and a lovely touch. The spacious VIP cabin is located in the bow featuring a queen-sized island bed and a private ensuite, and is equally as impressive. This head doubles as the day head when entertaining. The final guest cabin onboard 'Darkside' is positioned under the helm station so well suited to crew accommodation. This cabin features two single berths and its own head. An Isotherm freezer and LG combination Washer/Dryer are both located within this area of the boat. After returning to the cockpit, we ascend the ladder up to the teak-laid flybridge of 'Darkside'. The captain and his admiral may relax in the luxurious Stidd chairs while taking in the view from this vantage point.
For entertaining up top an L-shaped lounge surrounds a high-gloss teak table, which is the ideal spot to enjoy the voyage or sundowner cocktails while anchored. When not in use, this section of the boat is protected by full weather covers. A removal shade awning can provide sun protection when at anchor. The Garmin electronics featured down at the lower station are repeated up on the flybridge, providing all the required navigation assistance for day trips or coastal cruising. Her spread of electronics includes a FLIR night vision camera. From a machinery perspective, 'Darkside's' engine room is simply delightful, immaculately presented and maintained.
She is powered by very low hour twin Volvo IPS 950s providing spirited performance and class leading fuel economy (Palm Beach fuel economy is legendary). Your onboard power requirements are taken care of by two Fischer Panda variable speed generators. The engine room is a must see space onboard 'Darkside'.
