This rare late model Grand Banks 50 Eastbay SX is a magnificent illustration of seaworthiness, elegant style and comfort. Admiring the vessel's exterior you get a sense of the performance capacity underway. Grand Banks are the benchmark when it comes to building solid cruising motor yachts. The boats interior is a beautifully maintained rich teak throughout. The quality of this vessel is remarkable.
Off the transom is a wide and deep teak swim platform where the boats tender is stored. The hydraulic system allows for easy launch of the tender. We also love that the swim platform is spacious enough to accommodate a couple of deck chairs so you can laze in the sun, right beside the water.
Entering the boat aft, the cockpit is spacious and functional with a comfortable settee to a foldable teak table. The unmistakable highlight is the starboard positioning of the galley just inside the double-sliding six-panel doors leading into the main saloon.
This ingenious layout offers numerous benefits, with the galley becoming the centre of attention. The ventilation means there is no lingering cooking aroma or excess heat. Your galley becomes a live cooking station where guests can be a part of the process and the chef is not isolated from the festivities. The separate helm chairs maximise comfort and safety underway. The captain is presented with excellent visibility and also has the benefit of a pilothouse door out onto the starboard side deck.
A stairway between the helm station and the pilothouse sofa leads down to the accommodation. The master cabin is positioned in the bow and is complete with an island queen bed and own private ensuite including a large separate shower recess. The space has been well utilised with the thoughtful placement of drawers and cupboards. This is a warm and welcoming cabin for rest and relaxation.
To starboard is the VIP guest cabin featuring twin single berths which can effortlessly be converted to a double bed along a smooth sliding rail. The cabin is connected with a two-way ensuite. To port is a second guest cabin with upper and lower single bunk beds. The cabins are fitted with large portholes encased in beautiful stainless-steel offering plenty of natural light and water views.
To the heart of the boat, the entrance to the engine room is via the cockpit. All components can be easily accessed in this immaculate space including the main air conditioning unit, Cummins Onan 13.5kW Genset and Spectra Newport 1000 Watermaker.
For the mechanically minded, the vessel is powered by twin Volvo IPS 900's (using D11 model engines) with only 875hrs on the clock.
