Alexander Marine are pleased to have AGAIN SOLD this 2013 Fjord 40 Open.
'One' underwent a substantial reconfiguration and overall refit when purchased by the previous owner and had been used for both day boating and as a superyacht tender along the east coast of Australia. Unique to 'One' was her large custom hardtop, complete with one piece glass windscreen and windscreen wiper, which was well suited to our Australian climate for maximum weather protection.
She was a striking looking vessel with her hull being finished in silver two pak paint, which was complimented by her black hardtop and black cockpit furniture finishes. She was the ultimate day boat.
For those people that hadn't experienced the enjoyment and exhilaration of the Fjord 40 Open we recommended not to wait any longer! Twin Volvo Diesel IPS power offered great acceleration, swift top-end speed exceeding 30 knots, and ease of docking courtesy of the Volvo IPS joystick docking system. This choice of power was also smooth and quiet. They were a fun boat in which to enjoy time out on the water with family and friends. The walk-around decks, with high bulwarks, made for an easy and safe boat to get around and entertain onboard. S/S child/pet gates were fitted across the stern to further keep everyone where they are meant to be.
'One' featured a custom extended swim platform which was added by the previous owner to enable a small inflatable tender to be stowed on removable S/S tender cradles. The outboard for the tender stows on a customer made bracket in the engine room.
Her decks including the above mentioned extended swim platform and capping boards were teak laid. For added "James Bond" appeal the Fjord 40 model featured a retractable anchor roller assembly so as the anchor was stowed inboard when not in use to further improve her imposing profile.
Her cockpit featured re-upholstered dual bench seats, of which both backrests could be reversed providing a large combination of seating arrangements. You would find storage under the aft bench seat, and triple Dometic Coolmatic dedicated drinks drawer fridges under the forward bench seat to keep guests hydrated. The seating combinations included having the aft seat setup to face aft so as guests could watch people swimming or generally take advantage of the view out from the stern of the boat. When typically configured the two bench seats face each other, and an electric height adjustable natural teak table made for either a dining or coffee table configuration - for up to 8 guests given the beamy nature of the Wally-inspired hull design. The table could be lowered all the way down (and with the addition of an infill cushion over the table) this area then became a large day bed. When underway the forward bench seat could be set up so as to face forward - great for when you have a lot of guests onboard and are underway.
In addition to the huge hardtop, a shade mesh euro awning extended from the back of the hardtop out over the swim platform for even more sun protection. For the sunlovers the foredeck featured a re-upholstered sunpad which was covered with a sunbrella cover when not in use.
The custom hardtop and windscreen offered improved weather protection at the helm than a standard Fjord 40. It also gave the benefit of some handy overhead storage as well.
Her black helm station featured Simrad electronics including Radar and Autopilot as installed by the previous owner. Volvo QL interceptors were installed to take care of the vessel trim when underway. She was equipped with an upgraded Fusion Sound System including a subwoofer when the mood called for it. The aft of her hardtop featured inbuilt spreader lights perfect for entertaining or fishing after hours.
Below deck, the Fjord 40 Open layout featured a surprisingly large cabin (for her walk-around deck layout). 'One' featured a light oak interior timber finish which was easy on the eye and gave that "beachy" feel. An island double bed was installed centreline forward, and in addition to this, the settee backrests removed to reveal another bed which was tucked outboard to starboard and under the helm area. The head with an integrated shower was located to port. 'One' was equipped with a Fischer Panda generator and therefore the cabin area was able to air-condition when away from the dock when required.
Extensive weather covers had been made to keep the boat in great shape when not in use.
The Fjord 40's are a competent sea boat with 'One' having cruised the east coast from as far south as Sydney up north to Hamilton Island.
