Alexander Marine are pleased to have AGAIN SOLD this 2008 Grand Banks 59 Aleutian.
This vessel was beautifully presented with the owner completing a maintenance period at our service yard, which included a replacement (new) Onan 17.5 kw and all new Raymarine Axiom electronics.
'Grand Seas' featured a teak-laid swim platform completed with S/S transom rails across the stern to which a Sovereign Electric BBQ and Bait Board could be mounted. Entry to her beamy cockpit was via dual entry (fitted with pet/children gates) off the swim platform. A wide bench seat, under the cover of the flybridge hardtop overhang, was a magic entertaining space. The fixed cockpit tables could be joined to make one large/wide space for entertaining a crowd. A bar fridge was close by to keep everybody hydrated. The external staircase to the flybridge (rather than a ladder) was another welcomed feature of this model. Remembering also the hallmark Grand Banks Aleutian walk-around side decks & Portuguese bridge made her a very safe and practical vessel when moving around on deck. Note also the wing doors to both side decks which could be closed in windy conditions to improve comfort levels in the cockpit.
Upon the flybridge, you would find her as new tender stored athwartship aft. Two Stidd helm chairs provided comfortable seating and an excellent outlook for the skipper and navigator. In addition to the helm seating, additional upholstered bench seating (with lots of storage under) was installed to both port and starboard making this area another wonderful entertaining space with elevated views! The extended awning as installed onboard permits all-weather access to the flybridge from the cockpit which was a great setup.
Leaving the cockpit as you entered the saloon you were welcomed by the usual flawless Grand Banks timberwork & craftsmanship - including teak and holly flooring (which was featured throughout the whole interior of the boat). An L-shape settee and coffee table were installed to port, looking at a pop-up TV to starboard. Two single bucket seats were to starboard either side of the pop-up TV for entertaining a larger crowd indoors.
Moving forward from the saloon you stepped up three steps to the galley and pilothouse level. A spacious U-shaped well-equipped galley, complete with Miele appliances and black granite benchtop, was an entertainer's delight. Opposite the galley to the starboard, you would find an L-shaped settee and dining table. The galley and settee were within close reach of the centreline helm which had excellent vision forward courtesy of the raised pilothouse design. The pilothouse featured dual pilothouse doors for ease of access out onto the side decks.
Entry to the lower deck accommodation was via a staircase to starboard of the helm. The forward VIP cabin featured an island double bed with its own private head ensuite to port. Immediately aft and to port you would find the twin cabin featuring two athwartship single beds - this cabin used a head (which acts as the day head & featured the ship's laundry equipment) across the companionway. Moving aft the full beam midship master offered an island queen bed, private head, plenty of storage, and flat-screen TV.
For ease of docking, she was complete with a bow thruster and a wired docking remote. Her Cat C-15 power permitted a sprint speed approaching 24 knots when required. She was Naiad fin-stabilized for comfort underway. She had spent her life cruising the Queensland coastline and had just returned from 2021 cruising season.
