DESCRIPTION & DETAILS

Alexander Marine are pleased to have SOLD this Grand Banks 47.

The GB47EU was the perfect cruising platform. She offered two spacious cabins each with its own bathroom. 'High Noon' was an extended cockpit example providing a spacious cockpit area well protected from sun & rain by the flybridge overhang. The GB47 offered fast economical cruising at 20 knots, yet would sprint to 24 knots as required which is always handy. The saloon and galley areas offered lots of natural light and ventilation. The lower helm was immediately adjacent to the galley so the skipper did not feel left out (or go hungry!).

She was complete with a pilothouse door that permitted easy access out onto the side deck when berthing. She was indeed a very user-friendly boat complete with walk-around decks keeping those young and old safe. Engine room access was excellent, and she was powered by the optional Caterpillar C-9's at 575hp each. The hull on the GB 47 EU had a flat aft, and slid onto the plane willingly at 1500rpm and 10.5kts.

Good passage-making speeds were anywhere from 1800rpm and 15.2kts to 2000rpm and 16.7kts. If you really wanted to reel in the sea miles then chug along at about 1300rpm and 9kts for 16lt/h per side with a safe range of about 575nm - Gold Coast to Sydney on less than a tank. Of specific interest to a serious buyer was the upgrades to this vessel including but certainly not limited to a new Raymarine Axiom electronics package and a new Dockmate remote docking system. Throughout the boat - from stem to stern - her owner had made multiple improvements to continually refine and improved the enjoyment that comes from owning a Grand Banks.
