DESCRIPTION & DETAILS

Alexander Marine are pleased to have SOLD this Fjord 40 Open.

She was fresh from a mammoth refit - basically all of her original equipment was outright replaced or substantially upgraded, and she presented as the ultimate day boat. Her striking two pak paint finish made for a head-turning statement wherever she roamed.

For those people that hadn't experienced the enjoyment and exhilaration of the Fjord 40 Open we recommended waiting no longer! Dual Volvo Diesel IPS power offered great acceleration, swift top-end speed approaching 35 knots, and ease of docking courtesy of the Volvo IPS joystick docking system. This choice of power was also smooth and quiet. They were a fun boat in which to enjoy time out on the water with family and friends. The walk-around decks, with high bulwarks, made for an easy and safe boat to get around and entertain onboard. S/S child/pet gates were fitted across the stern to further keep everyone where they were meant to be.

'Vitesse' featured a custom extended swim platform which made for a great space from which you could swim, fish, or cook up a storm on her removable S/S BBQ which was installed onto her dual removable transom rails.

In addition to her previously mentioned BMW Neon Blue painted hull, her decks and capping boards were laid with superyacht quality Esthec decking material with a custom diagonal chalking inlay detail. This material was low maintenance and being ultra-tough would be in service a lot longer than traditional teak decking. And it looked sharp!

Her cockpit featured dual bench seats, of which both backrests could be reversed providing a large combination of seating arrangements. You would find storage under both of these bench seats. The seating combinations included having the aft seat setup to face aft so as guests could watch people swimming or generally take advantage of the view out from the stern of the boat - the lounges were super comfortable to sit on and featured new upholstery with custom stitching detail. When typically configured the two bench seats facing each other, and an electric height adjustable table made for either a dining or coffee table configuration - for up to 8 guests given the beamy nature of the Wally-inspired hull design. The table could be lowered all the way down (and with the addition of an infill cushion over the table) this area then became a large sun pad. When underway the forward bench seat could be set up so as to face forward - which just felt right when running at higher speeds.

Various soft shade options were available for the cockpit - a simple market umbrella located through the middle of the table into a custom base fitting and could be set up in a jiffy. For more substantial shade, a large euro awning (shade sail) was attached to the aft of the custom hardtop and was then connected/supported back aft by custom removable carbon fiber poles (which again located into custom deck hardware!) - it was a very nice system. The foredeck had a similar removable euro awning and carbon fibre pole system also FYI.

Above the helm area and dash was a fixed custom hardtop that provided permanent weather protection (the current hardtop offered significantly more protection than the standard factory hardtop). The aft of her hardtop featured inbuilt spreader lights perfect for entertaining after dark.

Her modern helm featured the latest in Raymarine electronics including Raymarine Axiom 12" Pro RV, Axiom 9" Plus Chartplotter, AIS 700 and Raymarine M200 Flir thermal Camera. She was equipped with solar panels and therefore could be left without shore power (say on a mooring) with ease while still running selected DC appliances. Cruise along to the beats of Fusion Sound System with JL Audio amps, subwoofers and speakers.

Below deck, the Fjord 40 Open layout featured a surprisingly large cabin (for her walk-around deck layout). An island double bed was installed centreline forward, and in addition to this, the settee backrests removed to reveal another bed which was tucked outboard to starboard and under the helm area. The head with an integrated shower was located to port. 'Vitesse' featured a cherry timber finish, and had all new upholstery and floor coverings in the cabin.

Forward of the helm seat was a large upholstered foredeck sun pad (which you could enjoy with or without the weather protection on offer from the removable euro awning).

The bow of 'Vitesse' featured a custom S/S bow plate on the stem, and she was equipped with an Ultra S/S Anchor.

Extensive weather covers had been made to keep the boat in great shape when not in use, plus there were removable port and starboard dodgers that protected the helm area should you experience some rain when enjoying the boat.

Major mechanical works were completed to 'Vitesse' during the refit, most notably the installation of the latest model (brand new 2020) IPS drives.

The Fjord 40's are a competent sea boat with one east coast model having cruised the east coast from Sydney up to Hamilton Island.
