DESCRIPTION & DETAILS

Alexander Marine are pleased to have SOLD the 2005 Grand Banks 64 Aleutian Raised Pilothouse 'Nooroo V'.

With over 50 years of timeless design Grand Banks Motor Yachts have an impeccable reputation for building superbly engineered and beautifully finished motor yachts. The brand's popularity is strengthened by old-world charm combined with new-world comforts - 'Nooroo V' is the epitome of this union. 'Nooroo V' was commissioned by a highly experienced yachtsman who had an exceptional eye for detail. Within a few short years of owning 'Nooroo V', due to his enthusiasm for the Grand Banks brand, the original owner commissioned a larger Grand Banks Motor Yacht. 'Nooroo V' is therefore currently owned by her second long-term owners. Teak joinery, handcrafted timber furniture, and her beautifully maintained interior live in harmony with the most recent Raymarine electronics and powerful Caterpillar main engines. Naval Architecture for the 64 Aleutian Raised Pilothouse model was courtesy of the acclaimed Tom Fexas and the boat has proven itself to be an excellent blue water vessel.

Access onto 'Nooroo V' is possible via her teak-laid swim platform which features dual entries up into the cockpit, or via side boarding gates to both port and starboard. The cockpit design is distinctly an extension of the main saloon, opening up alfresco entertainment opportunities. Aft of the cockpit's electric hi/lo high gloss teak dining table is a beamy lounge that will accommodate a large crowd. Add some deck chairs and this area is an entertainer's delight!

'Nooroo V' offers more than 6 feet, and 5 inches of headroom throughout the entire boat. Her large, pleasant saloon is awash with natural light thanks to her many large windows. The saloon oozes an elegant ambience thanks to the timeless Burmese teak woodwork extending from the ceiling to the floor. The saloon layout features a light brown suede curved lounge in the port forward corner which is set around a matte-finished teak electric hi/lo convertible dining table. Alternatively, guests may choose to sit across from the lounge area on one of two comfortable single-seaters to take in the picturesque views. A beverage fridge is located immediately inside the saloon to port which will keep guests in the saloon or cockpit hydrated. Immediately to starboard as you enter the saloon a hi/lo TV emerges at the press of a button when called for.

Up four wide stairs, you arrive at the pilothouse level which includes the well-equipped U-shaped galley guaranteed to impress your nominated chef. 'Nooroo V's' unspoiled teak cabinetry flows into the space, complemented by immaculate white granite benchtops connecting to the main dining area; perfect for the easy service of food and allows the Chef to stay connected to guests while preparing meals. There is a huge amount of storage for provisions in the galley, large double sinks, and a four-burner stovetop and oven, both by Miele. There is no longer a need to scrimp on perishables for overnight trips as there is an abundance of fridge space onboard. The galley houses a 622L GE French door fridge/freezer as well as a 115L Coolmatic front-opening refrigerator. You won't be wasting any time doing chores while anchored in paradise as the galley also features a Miele dishwasher and a Broan trash compactor; two welcome luxuries to save you effort. The large windows bring in so much extra light and provide great ventilation, keeping the boat fresh.

Forward of the galley on the pilothouse level, the helm is equipped with a spread of gadgets including late model Raymarine touch screen multi-function displays and a separate screen to monitor CCTV. Caterpillar engine instrumentation will provide all the necessary information when you are underway. A new autopilot has been installed this year, consistent with the owners approach of upgrading equipment throughout the boat as required. The pilothouse features a signature Grand Banks ship's wheel, a comfortable Stidd helm chair, and an all-teak dash. Crew can keep the captain company while underway by sitting on a high-perched leather sofa to the port side of the helm offering excellent visibility.

Below decks, her accommodations are equally as stylish. Descending a staircase from the starboard side of the pilothouse you will arrive at the lower accommodation companionway. Turning aft you will find the magnificent owner's stateroom amidships. It includes a queen-size island berth with twin bedside tables, a settee, generous storage options and a flat-screen Samsung TV. The size of the cabin is generous thanks to her 6m hull beam, and the finer details in the soft home furnishings add an elegant touch of class. A large walk-in cedar-lined hanging wardrobe is adjacent to the starboard side night table. On the other side, a door leads to the master ensuite with white granite benchtops and a separate oversized shower cubicle. As the sun goes down and the lights are turned on, the cabin is filled with a warm ambient glow.

The forward VIP stateroom is just as beautiful, featuring a large hatch over the bed that floods the room with natural light or stargazing opportunities. The mirror over the bedhead creates a more spacious feel in this cabin. Creature comforts - a Soniq flat-screen TV, ample storage, and an ensuite bathroom with uniform teak cabinetry and granite benchtops enhance this refined accommodation offering for your beloved guests. Be prepared as your visitors will be so content they may never want to leave!

There is an additional 3rd guest cabin accommodating an extra three guests, fitted with three single bunks, and a Samsung TV. This cabin shares the VIP head, which also acts as a day head for guests. A fun space for the grandkids to have their own room onboard the ship. And finally in terms of accommodation 'Nooroo V' is also set up with an aft crew cabin featuring two single bunks, an ensuite, TV and a Raymarine navigation screen to keep an eye on things.

Accessed via an internal stairwell is 'Nooroo V's' spacious flybridge complete with GRP hardtop and all-weather clears. For entertaining guests, two mirrored L-shaped lounges are set around matching teak latticed tables. A wet bar and Miele barbeque are close by to make the most of the panoramic views from this vantage point. It is easy to picture yourself up here with family and friends enjoying a couple of sundowners after a day on the water. The boat's tender, a substantial Boston Whaler 1330 Super Sport, is housed at the rear of the flybridge area and is deployed and stowed with the use of her hydraulic crane.

The flybridge helm station is outfitted with twin Stidd helm chairs and necessary electronics. There is excellent visibility from this elevated helm station.

The boat's engine room is accessible via either an access door in the master bathroom or through a hatch that is built into the molded cockpit seating. The beating heart of this vessel has been cared for throughout the boat's history. Housing Twin Caterpillar C18's 'Nooroo V' can be nudged to around 20 knots!! With the comfort of Naiad Fin Stabilizers, most owners will cruise the boat at a sedate 10 knots in absolute comfort! Her onboard power requirements are catered for by way of two Onan generators which take care of her air-conditioning and power her Village Marine Tech Watermaker when on safari.

'Nooroo V' is a particularly dog & family-friendly vessel featuring signature Grand Banks walk-around decks and sturdy handrails. Her Portuguese bridge design is a testament to the expectation that this boat will be cruised long distances and encounter foul weather - indeed she has cruised from Tasmania in the south to far north Qld on many occasions. Despite her size, this vessel can easily be handled by a cruising couple who love to travel the east coast of Australia and beyond in luxury.

You are invited to book a private inspection to view this vessel. If you are unable to travel to inspect this vessel, we would be pleased to offer you a personal guided video call tour with one of our yacht consultants.

Lying in Broken Bay (Pittwater), New South Wales, Australia.
