International Division - North American Purchase & Importation Success

In another successful transaction for Alexander Marine’s global yacht acquisitions & superyachts division, Superyacht Sales Executive Martin Hills recently led a successful trip to Fort Lauderdale, acquiring a stunning Grand Banks 59 Aleutian Raised Pilothouse Motor Yacht. This marks the fourth Grand Banks Yacht that Alexander Marine has assisted this client to purchase and or sell, and is a testament to the trust and satisfaction our clients experience with us.

After a comprehensive process of initial groundwork and negotiations working with Denison Yachting who represented the Seller, Martin and our client then headed to the USA in late August to inspect the vessel firsthand. Given the initial inspection was to the satisfaction of our client, the vessel was then sea trialled off the coast of Fort Lauderdale during the same trip. The purchase was swiftly confirmed and Martin then transitioned to assisting with the preparation of the boat for shipping, ensuring everything was in order for its subsequent safe journey and delivery down to Australia.

Her new owner, thrilled with the entire process, had this to say:

Martin spent the whole of the second day helping me pack and clean the boat to make ready for shipping back down to Australia for which I am very grateful. At such time as the final purchase decision was made Alexander Marine’s experienced support team then started co-ordinating everything to do with the export of the yacht commencing with her delivery up to Charleston South Carolina awaiting shipping out of the USA. Notwithstanding some wild weather & later significant waterfront industrial action which spread across most of the USA cargo ports the Grand Banks Yacht was successfully loaded onboard a cargo ship bound for Australia! Our focus then shifted to importation logistics into Australia working with our group of highly experienced preferred suppliers to also streamline that process for our clients.

This purchase had truly global elements to it – in so far as she was being sold by her Irish owner, who resides in France, with the yacht being Italian flagged, while lying in Florida, as initially manufactured by Grand Banks Yachts who were then manufacturing in Singapore!
