A delivery voyage across the Tasman Sea onboard the Horizon E84 ‘Luna’

Alexander Marine’s New Zealand division has masterminded multiple significant New Zealand based transactions throughout 2025, contracting and settling a diverse range prestigious premium brokerage yachts both into and out of New Zealand much to the delight of our Buyers and Sellers globally.

The culmination of a recent transaction was the delivery voyage for the 2016 Horizon E84 ‘Luna’ (ex ‘Kokomo’) from Auckland, New Zealand to Southport, Queensland Australia.

The yacht was sold and settled in Auckland with involvement from Alexander Marine New Zealand Yacht Sales Executive Kelvin Gorrie and Dealer Principal Todd Holzapfel - Alexander Marine New Zealand represented both the Buyer and the Seller in this transaction. Just a few weeks after Settlement the experienced Alexander Marine delivery crew of three, led by Special Projects Executive James Purves, gathered at Gulf Harbour Marina in Auckland on Saturday 13th of September 2025 to prepare for the voyage.

With westerly winds gusting 45-50 knots on Sunday, the team waited until Monday 15th to commence the trip ex-Auckland, cruising at 15 knots up to Opua Marina in the Bay of Islands, where they refuelled the yacht prior to the international departure the next day. 2,500 extra litres of fuel were taken onboard in bladders to ensure sufficient fuel reserve for the trip.

The team arrived in Southport, Queensland Australia on the morning of Monday 22nd September with a routing that took them north of Norfolk Island. Altogether they had covered close to 1,350 nautical miles at an average speed of 10.8 knots.

A successful and comfortable crossing was completed on a beautiful yacht in time for the new owners to spend the school September holidays in the Whitsundays the following week!

The voyage was expertly coordinated by James Purves who led the planning activities and execution of the delivery with help of his capable crew, and the administration resources of our head office in Australia.

This sale reflects Alexander Marine’s reputation as a leading authority in premium yacht brokerage both locally and abroad. With Alexander Marine's highly professional approach to yacht sales we have listed, sold, and settled a diverse range of new and premium brokerage motor yachts from 32ft to 132ft.
