DESCRIPTION & DETAILS

Alexander Marine are pleased to have AGAIN SOLD the 2005 Grand Banks 46 Europa 'Sea Eagle'.

Grand Banks are infamous for their timeless appeal and this charming 2005 Europa model is no exception. She has been lovingly maintained to a very high standard throughout. 'Bacalao' is the perfect boat for weekends away in style and comfort and is well equipped with everything you need for extended getaways making her a respectable coastal cruising vessel along Australia's famous coastline.

Boarding the vessel via the swim platform brings you into 'Sea Eagle's' spacious teak cockpit, a great place for entertaining, alfresco dining or lazing back and taking in the water views. The cockpit is a central entry point with access to the bow of the boat along the wide undercover teak decks, ascending to the flybridge or stepping into the roomy and cosy main saloon which exudes a homely vibe.

The interior décor is inviting and comfortable, making it easy to picture yourself unwinding with a book while anchored in calm waters. The interior of the Grand Banks vessel is adorned with classic nautical features, such as brass lamps topped with atlas lampshades, which adds to its timeless charm. The current owners have done an excellent job of complementing the vessel's beauty with tasteful home furnishings.

The saloon of the Grand Banks is illuminated by natural light filtering in through the large windows, highlighting the beautiful grains in the teak wood. The seating area is composed of an L-shaped settee that surrounds a large teak dining table with foldable sides creating even more space when not in use. On the starboard side, a matching upholstered lounge with well-placed scatter cushions adds a touch of style to the space. No detail has been overlooked in creating this elegant and tasteful area.

The saloon is particularly remarkable due to the addition of teak and glass sliding doors connecting the main saloon to the cockpit. These double doors when fully opened, create a sense of spaciousness and bring in the outdoors, making it an attractive feature for those who want the full experience of living on the water. The extended roof above provides the cockpit with plenty of protection allowing the doors to remain open without letting the elements into the main saloon. This indoor-outdoor connection also provides ample space for entertainment, making it a perfect spot for hosting guests.

The U-shaped galley to port, located forward of the main saloon boasts a quality Gaggenau four burner gas stove top and Gaggenau convection microwave, as well as eutectic fridges and a deep freeze. An additional eutectic fridge/freezer is located within the main saloon and a Eva Kool freezer is comfortably tucked away in the lazarette. What's more, the galley's strategic position allows the host to cook while keeping engaged with guests, making it the perfect setup for hosting. You can forget about doing the dishes. There is a Fischer & Paykel dishdrawer at your service.

To starboard is the lower helm station that has a bench seat and a stunningly polished timber Grand Banks steering wheel. This traditional feature never fails to grab the attention of guests and will always be appreciated by the captain with it's traditional nautical look and feel.

Her upgraded Raymarine MFD electronics are easily accessed from the well-organised helm station. The captain can enjoy excellent visibility from the lower position and can easily access the wide walk around side decks through the pilothouse door. 'Bacalao' is equipped with a Side-Power bow thruster enhancing manoeuvrability so your docking prowess will be admired by everyone in the marina.

The accommodation of 'Bacalao' is accessible by centreline stairs between the galley and helm station. The vessel's three-cabin layout boasts a master suite forward with queen-sized island bed and a well-maintained bathroom including a separate shower stall. The ample natural light in this cabin is facilitated by four large potholes and an overhead hatch giving the cabin a fresh and airy feel.

The innovative use of storage space is again seen in the master cabin with plenty of drawers, shelving and cupboards including hanging space. A lovely additional feature is the inbuilt high gloss teak framed mirror which adds a sense of spaciousness.

For those hosting guests for an extended stay, the guest cabin is equipped with two athwartship single beds to ensure a comfortable night's sleep. The third cabin has single over and under berths. The guest cabins share an ensuite with shower and toilet facilities.

Upon returning to the deck, 'Sea Eagle's' spacious teak decks, offer ample room for entertaining. The stainless-steel installed around the vessel ensure safe and secure movement in any weather condition. Additionally, the boat's elevated gunnels are adorned with natural teak capping rails, enhancing her elegant look.

Ascending to the flybridge from the cockpit is facilitated by a sturdy staircase, rather than a ladder. This upper deck offers an expansive and stunning view, making it an ideal spot for hosting gatherings. The flybridge extends out over the wrap-around side decks, providing a large entertaining area. Guests can relax on the elegant white lounges, while drinks are chilling in the 65L bar fridge.

From the flybridge the captain can manoeuvre the vessel from a complete helm station duplicated from the pilothouse below and boasts three comfortable helm chairs. Additionally, there is ample space aft of the flybridge for the Highfield tender, with a Yamaha 20HP 4 stroke electric start & power tilt outboard and a davit for easy launch. All of these features make for an excellent and enjoyable boating experience.

Access to the engine room is via a hatch in the cockpit. 'Bacalao' is powered by twin Cummins QSB 5.9's at 380HP each and cruises comfortably at approximately 8 to 10 knots. She certainly offers a comfortable and dependable cruising experience along the coast thanks also to her Naiad fin stabilisers. Neatly arranged storage shelves can be found in the lazarette for storage of all your cruising equipment.

The engine room provides ample space available for routine maintenance tasks as well as major repairs. 'Bacalao' is equipped with a Horizon Marine Watermaker, a 7 KW Onan Generator. Fitted with Bennett Trim tabs you will notice a reduction in bow rise in turn improving the efficiency of your boat.

'Sea Eagle' is a stunning example of timeless Grand Banks build quality and practicality.
